Help Discernment Journey Ministries turn a hotel into a sanctuary, offering shelter, life skills, and hope to thousands of women and children each year.

$30 million (for property purchase, renovation, staffing, and initial operations)

$100: “Empower a Survivor” — provides one week of life skills training.
$250: “Sponsor a Safe Night” — covers shelter for a woman and children.
$1,000: “Adopt a Room” — helps renovate one space for a family.
$10,000: “Bev's Friend” — name on a donor wall in the new shelter, VIP invitation to grand opening.
$50,000+: “Founders Circle” – Have your name or your organization’s name on a floor or a set of dedicated rooms, including VIP invitation to the grand opening.

Why We do What We do!

In the US, 1-in-3 women will experience violence at the hands of an intimate partner. Women represent 10% of the incarcerated population, and their numbers are rising faster than men's.

In Florida, more than half of the population are women. Our focus is on Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties, which together represent 26% of Florida's population (6.2 million residents).

Our Response

Our programs offer a holistic, survivor-centered approach. Family Transitional Housing provides safe housing for survivors and their children. Educational Outreach works to remove shame and reshape societal understanding of these survivors. Life Skills Training equips survivors with practical, everyday tools. These initiatives are designed not only to help survivors survive, but to thrive—economically, emotionally, and socially.

As a survivor of Domestic Violence, it has been my experience,

that the even the smallest of gestures can have a life changing impact!

As we continue our fundraising efforts for our first shelter property, we are honored to have been part of the healing journey of so many local clients. In 2025, I am proud to say that we were able to provide services to local employers, clergy and survivors with outreach educational programs, legal and employment resources, safety guidance and emotional/trauma support. Our volunteers have been a vital part of our start up efforts and we look forward to establishing a staff who will be dedicated to this work full time.

The work we have accomplished continues to fuel our 2026 goals of providing a safe place for families to heal. We are committed to lasting change and believe with your support; we can reach and empower more survivors to rebuild their lives.
